Benefits of Tableted Salt

Modern water softening systems are very simple and reliable due to the use of tableted salt. You just need to remember to maintain its supply in the tank. At the same time, one should not be afraid to “pour over”. You can pour tablets even to the very edge of the tank – all the same, more than necessary will not dissolve. However, the level of tablets must be monitored periodically. The criterion is simple – there should always be dry tablets at the top.
Loading times can vary significantly for different equipment configurations and water conditions.
It is also necessary that sufficient time elapses between regenerations for the formation of a concentrated salt solution in the tank. From this point of view, it seems that it seems more rational to use salt not in the form of tablets, but in the usual one – in bulk. And dissolve faster and cheaper.

However, it is no coincidence that salt is required in tablet form. The fact is that the salt in bulk does not dissolve in water instantly, but on the contrary very quickly cakes into a monolithic mass.
Such a lump of salt will not only have a surface area that is much less than the same weight amount of salt in tablets (which means it will dissolve much more slowly), but it can also “build up” around the shaft of the suction system and, thus, completely block the work automatic filter regeneration system, which will inevitably lead to failure.

In the process of dissolution, solid particles of undissolved salt destroy and disable the expensive sodium-cation exchange filter and actuators of automation and regulation.
The tablets do not disintegrate during the dissolution process but gradually dissolve. Polyethylene bags weighing 25 kg reliably protect salt from moisture and impurities. Their weight is optimal for service personnel and does not require much effort from them.

Many years of experience in developed countries (where they know how to count money) have proven the economic and technical feasibility of using tableted salt as a consumable in water treatment.
